The super talented and gorgeous Priyanka Chopra, who has been making waves around the world, recently produced her first Bhojpuri film, Bam Bam Bol Raha Hai Kashi. Featuring the popular on-screen pair of Dineshlal Niarahua and Amrapali Dubey, this film was expected to fare brilliantly at the box-office. However, surprisingly, it has opened to a mixed response.
What’s more, several eminent personalities from the Bhojpuri industry have gone all out to slam PeeCee’s production. They have called her out for defaming the Bhojpuri industry by producing a movie with ‘sleazy, vulgar and obscene’ content.
Director Nitin N Chandraa, winner of the prestigious National Award for his Maithili film Mithila Makhan this year, told India Today: “At a time when my mother tongue Bhojpuri is fighting for its existence, Priyanka has not only defamed herself but also besmirched her Padma Shri award by producing a movie like this.”
Kunal Dutt, who runs a campaign to save the historic Dutch-made Patna Collectorate from demolition proposed by the Nitish Kumar government even called it an “attempt to rake in moolah from dumb and gullible audience looking for sex and cheap thrills”.
