Salman Khan was convicted on Thursday by a Jodhpur court in the 1998 blackbuck poaching case, and a sentence of 5 years in jail was announced. The news left his fans in a state of dismay. While the actor already spent a day in jail, he will have to spend one more day in the prison considering the decision on his bail plea by the judges has been pushed to Saturday. As per a few news channels, the actor was given cauliflower, daal, and chapati for dinner last night and his breakfast included jaggery, boiled grams with tea. Salman Khan did not eat anything.
Well, not only Salman Khan's family and fans but also his industry friends are worried about the judgement passed. Some of the actors took to social media to express their concern and sorrow for Salman Khan and his family. Varun Dhawan was one of the first actors to extend his virtual support to the actor and family. He wrote, "I know for a fact that Salman bhai and his family have the utmost respect and faith in our judiciary system. @BeingSalmanKhan is one of the strongest and most genuine people I know and I'm sure he will come out of this stronger (sic)."

This is what he wrote, "@BeingSalmanKhan can't be looked at only through the prism of court judgement. Large-hearted & endearing, Salman has been through many ups & downs in life. Am sure this bad patch will pass off very soon (sic)."

Arjun Rampal thinks that the decision taken is too harsh. "The law takes its course. Can't argue it. But at this point in time I just feel helpless and my heart goes out to @BeingSalmanKhan and his family. Reason, cause the last thing @BeingSalmanKhan is, is a criminal.I feel this is too harsh. I do hope he gets the relief he deserves (sic)," wrote the actor.

Salman Khan gets 5 years in jail, other accused let off

In a major setback to actor Salman Khan, a Jodhpur trial courttoday sentenced him to 5 years in jail in the 1998 blackbuck poaching case. Other accused in the case were acquitted.

Jodhpur District Presiding Officer Devkumar Khatri pronounced Salman guilty of killing two blackbucks, which are an endangered species, on October 1, 1998 during a hunting expedition near Jodhpur, Rajasthan. A penalty of Rs 10,000 has also been levied on him.

Co-accused Saif Ali Khan, Sonali Bendre, Neelam and Tabu were present in court during pronouncement of the verdict. There are two other accused in the case -- travel agent Dushyant Singh and Dinesh Gawre, Salman's assistant at the time. Gawre is still absconding.

The actors are accused of hunting down two blackbucks in Kankani village near Jodhpur on the intervening night of October 1 and 2, 1998. The actors were in the city for the shooting of the film 'Hum Saath Saath Hain'.

Salman, 52, had earlier pleaded innocence in the case, claiming before the court that the blackbuck died of "natural causes" and he was being "framed".

Salman is facing charges under Section 51 of the Wildlife (Protection) Act and the other actors have been charged under Section 51 read with Section 149 (unlawful assembly) of the Indian Penal Code. Maximum punishment under Section 51 is six years.

H M Saraswat, the defence counsel for Salman Khan, said there are many loopholes in the prosecution's case and the prosecution has failed to prove the case beyond any doubt.

"Prosecution has failed to prove allegations against the accused and has engaged in tampering and fabricating evidences and documents as well as roping in fake witnesses to prove the case. It has even failed to prove that black bucks were killed by gunshots. Hence such investigation cannot be trusted upon", Saraswat said during final arguments on March 28.
This is last of the three poaching cases against Salman from 1998 that is being heard at Jodhpur trial court. He was convicted in two poaching cases by trial court, only to be acquitted by the Rajasthan high court later.

Kapil Sharma and Sunil Grover should re-unite for the greater good – here’s why

It was heart-breaking for their fans when Kapil Sharma and Sunil Grover had a fallout back in 2014.

Their chemistry, as comedians, worked wonders for the audience, who loved to see them together every weekend on their TV screens. Unfortunately, the two had an argument after which Sunil decided to walk out of Kapil’s show, Comedy Nights With Kapil, and went on to start his own show, Mad In India on a rival channel. Sadly, it didn’t work for Sunil, as many called it a poor version of CNWK. Of course, Kapil’s show was affected too as people were missing his bestie on it. Thankfully, the two let the bygones be bygones and Sunil joined hands with Kapil again. After Kapil had a fallout with the channel that aired his show, Sunil and the other team members didn’t leave his side as they went on to start a new show (The Kapil Sharma Show), this time together on another channel. With every episode, Kapil and his team won hearts yet again.
Their popularity took them on world tours. It was while returning from one such tour that Kapil got into an argument with not only Sunil, but with his other team members too. The incident took place on a flight when they all were returning from Australia. And that was it. This time not only Sunil, but Kapil’s other colleagues – Ali Asgar and Chandan Prabhakar, too, walked out of the show. While Chandan forgave Kapil after a few days and returned to the show, Ali cited other reasons behind leaving The Kapil Sharma Show. Just like last time, the ratings saw a dip in Sunil’s absence, and soon the show was pulled off-air.

After taking a long break, Kapil has returned to TV, this time with a game show titled Family Time With Kapil. It opened to poor reviews by both critics and the masses. As for Sunil, we haven’t seen much of him on the small screen after his second fallout with Kapil. Even though he is shooting for another show, we are not sure if the audience will accept it or will it be the same case as with Mad In India all over again. Which brings us to the crux of the story. We can safely conclude that the audience is not ready to see Kapil and Sunil separately. Therefore, it only makes sense that the two end their war and join hands. Not only for their own but for the greater good. And good news is that our astrologer predicts that happening by the end of the year.

Rangasthalam CRUSHES Baaghi 2 to take the number one spot in the biggest weekend of 2018 : Chennai Box office

Chennai Box office has been dominated by non-Tamil releases - Rangasthalam and Baaghi 2

It’s been a month since no new Tamil releases have hit theatres. The conflict between producers and Digital Service providers continues. This is by far the longest strike Tamil cinema and theatres have witnessed. While fans await, new content with much anticipation, films in other languages have been drawing full attention. Last week, Rani Mukherji’s Hichki and Pacific Rim Uprising took over the Chennai Box office. This week, we have Ram Charan – Samantha Ruth Prabhu’s Rangathalam and Baaghi 2 taking centre stage. In fact, Ram Charan’s Rangasthalam has managed to crush Baaghi 2 at the Chennai box office and take on the number 1 spot in the longest weekend of 2018. As Sreedhar Pillai points out, Other language films – #Rangasthalam & #Bhaagi2 make merry during Easter weekend at Chennai Box-Office with great collections. #Kollywood has missed out on the biggest weekend to start of 2018 summer season.
Ever since Rangasthalam’s release on 30th March, critics, fans, celebs have stopped praising the film. Sukumar’s depiction of the rural scene in the 80s and Ram Charan’s act as Chitti Babu have specially been praised. Samantha’s expressions have also had fans gushing. This pair came together for the first time and has proved lucky! The film is faring phenomenally even in the overseas market. It has already entered the top 10 highest grossing Telugu films in America. Here’s what our reviewer has to say about Rangasthalam – Ram Charan will be remembered for his Chitti Babu character for a long time. Rangasthalam has scenes that will stay with you for a long time, especially the bloody fight in the field and the final one between Ram Charan and the main villain. This one is a sure-shot blockbuster.Ram Charan – Samantha Ruth Prabhu’s first release of 2018 sure has struck gold.
