Well, after the success of Bajirao Mastani, the ace director is all set to make a movie on Rani Padmavati. Now, for those who don’t know the legend of Rani Padmavati of Chittor dates back to the 13th century AD. As per the legend, a banished evil sorcerer from Chittorgarh finds refuge in the court of the mighty Mughal King Alauddin Khilji. He, to avenge the king of Chittorgarh, fills the ears of Mughal Sultan with tales of beauty of Rani Padmavati, the queen of the king of Chittorgarh. The sultan, infatuated with the idea of a beautiful demands the king to give one glimpse of his wife. Reluctantly, the Rajput king shows a reflection of his wife in the mirror. Just like that, drunk with love, Alauddin Khilji wants to take the beautiful queen to his harem. He lays a siege on the fort of Chittogarh and finally defeats the king. Just as he is about to lay his hands on the Rani Padmavati, he finds that she, along with other Rajput royal women, emulate themselves to keep their honour and dignity.
