Maybe that was because she was promoting her film with beau Ranveer Singh. However, as soon as she flew to Hollywood to shooting for her debut film, XXX: The Return of Xander Cage, we saw her sport only black. It was black and skinny for Dippy. Initially, we found it really rad and inspiring but soon that changed. It became too repetitive and dull with lack of spark.
However, after returning to Mumbai, she again brought her charm on and tried rather bold and risque ensembles. Whatever qualms we had from her, style wise, she made a lot of alteration and tried something new. From the blue on blue summer friendly outfit to the bold and colourful IIFA ensembles, Deepika tried her hand in experimenting quite a lot. The only glitch there being, it lacked originality. Her looks were a copy of ensembles donned by Priyanka Chopra, Alia Bhatt, Anushka Sharma, Kangana Ranaut and even Selena Gomez! Although earlier it was mostly Hollywood celebs whose outfits were copied by Dippy but looks like now she has started drawing inspiration from Bollywood celebs as well! At Tamasha’s success party, Deepika donned the exact same floral Dolce and Gabbana dress that Kangana Ranaut wore during promotions of Katti Batti! Oops!
Next she drew some inspiration from Sonam Kapoor’s ruffle skirt and made it her own with a little twist by Abu Jani Sandeep Khosla at Star Screen awards. Had it been her own style, we would’ve lauded but the fact remains that Deepika did steal this look from Sonam.
That wasn’t all as when she returned from Hollywood, we spotted her sporting similar ensemble that Priyanka Chopra donned when she returned! Yes, the black leather pants, the top and layering it up, everything was very identical. Once again, it wasn’t a style of her own but a copy of her contemporary.
While Deepika soon started sporting some killer fashion risks, she wore satin PJs by Chloe, a similar outing that even Hollywood celebrity Selena Gomez wore during her vacay! Although, Deepika’s had a deep neck and more bolder outlook, it still was a striking copy of the popstar’s cool and casual look!
Finally, this one pushed us off the cliff of calling her style unimaginative and in a harsher way, a copy. Here, she basically got the same Kar Gayi Chull look of Alia Bhatt and even wore a similar top that the actress sported at a charity event. The chappals she matched the ensemble with was again a copy of Anushka Sharma’s standard footwear! Nothing original about this look.
