The Magadheera remake has been in the news for quite some time now.
The Telugu film Magadheera directed by S.S. Rajamouli is buzzing with rumours regarding the cast and its final director for the Hindi remake.
The film has been in the news for a remake in Hindi for two years now. Now DNA confirmed two days ago, that Sanjay Leela Bhansali will be taking on the project. Considering, epic dramas are his niche. “It was felt by the producers that no director but Sanjay could do justice to the epic scale of Magadheera. The film’s budget is expected to be approximately `120 crore, which is higher than what Bhansali’s last epic drama Bajirao Mastani cost.” a source revealed to the leading portal.
But there are two latest news attached to this project now. One that, Shahid Kapoor might be roped in to play Ram Charan’s role in the reincarnation themed remake. He was approached for this role few years ago when the movie was to be directed by Abhishek Kapoor and the rights were with Sajid Nadiadwala. Well, as of now no official announcement has been made. But it would interesting to see Shahid play a warrior.
And the other latest news is that Sanjay Leela Bhansali has denied that he wold be directing the Telugu remake. In fact, his spokesperson issued a statement, as per reports in the leading daily “ “No such film is being made. The report is completely untrue. Sanjay Leela Bhansali is not remaking ‘Magadheera’ or directing any other remake for that matter. The news is completely baseless.”
Magadheera is a romantic action that stars Ram Charan, Kajal Aggarwal, Srihari and Dev Gill. According to reports, the original director was not keen on directing the Hindi remake.
