"TODAY'S LAST NIGHT" Rajpal Yadav launches Patriotic Song “Rag Rag Mein Hindustan” on Independence Day

Maheshwar Films International & MFI Film Institute Mumbai, whose new film Today's Last Night is all set to release on 26th August 2016 celebrated the music launch of their new film with Bollywod Comedy Actor Rajpal Yadav on Independence Day.

The song that was launched especially was Rag Rag Mein Hindustan a patriotic number from Today's Last Night created and curated by Samrat Das who is also debuting with this film. Speaking on the occasion Rajpal Yadav congratulated the team of Maheshwar Films International & MFI Film Institute Mumbai, and specially Manoj Maheshwar the moving force and the producer of the film. He also gave his heartfelt blessings and wished the film all success.

The music launch of the film was a grand affair with more than 1500 people attending the same. A beaming Manoj Maheshwar says, “I am immensely grateful to Rajpal Yadavji for accepting our invitation to launch our music of the film. We are immensely blessed to be honoured with his presence and his invaluable words cheering us of our creation. Such motivational and guiding words coming from an esteemed celebrity like him is an honour in itself for us. Rajpalji had always been an epitome of acting for me and his presence today made my day. I thank him from the bottom of my heart and someday wish to be working with him in near future.”

Adding on this occasion, Ritu Mann who is also co-producing the film and wife of Manoj Maheshwar says, “We are grateful to the almighty that we could very well manage the entire event and look after all the ease and comforts of our guests and with positive aura. We are also thankful to our MFI Team without whom this wouldn’t have been a huge success. I also want to thank the technical team of the film and majorly the director Mr. Sunny Kapoor and his team for the wonderful work. I wish them all success.”

Today’s Last Night is based on the basic premise of Indians v/s Terrorism. Yet it’s very different from the films we have seen so far says the producer and actor Manoj Maheshwar. “Terrorism has no religion. The film depicts how young boys are getting caught in the mesh and there is rampant conversion to turn them as terrorists. The film also carries a positive message that even without any weapon, through the marg of ahimsa, we can still change the negative mind of a terrorist with love and humanity.”

Concluding on a positive note he is sincerely thankful to his Parents “Who brought me in this world to see and feel all the miracles and changes of life. And also I am very much thankful to God to give me the most beautiful thing in my life, my life partner Ritu Mann who supported me in all way. And last but not the least – all those who have supported the film in some or the other ways.”

Ranbir Kapoor discusses his break-up with Katrina

'It hurts because I think after my parents, she (Katrina) has been the most influential, most motivational entity in my life.'

Ranbir Kapoor has finally spoken out about his public breakup with girlfriend Katrina Kaif.
In a promo of his candid chat with Rajeev Masand, the 33-year-old actor is seen saying, 'It was really punctured by a lot of things -- by baseless rumours and reports and perceptions and point of views. It hurts because I think after my parents, she (Katrina) has been the most influential, most motivational entity in my life,' he says.
The former couple will be seen together in Anurag Basu’s Jagga Jasoos slated to release next year.
Ranbir also feels that there’s a need for reinvention.
'I am in that phase where I have to change, my films have to change, my pocket of expression has to change and the tricks in my magic bag have to change,' he says.
Talking about his state of mind after his recent string of flops, Ranbir said his confidence is affected.
'I will be lying if I say my confidence is not affected,' he says. 'When films don’t do well, actors feel insecure, worrisome. It makes actors feel, 'is the shine on my star fading? Do I have anything else to offer?''
Ranbir will be next seen in Karan Johar’s Ae Dil Hai Mushkil, along with Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Anushka Sharma and Fawad Khan. It will release on October 28.

Review: Dharmadurai is an enjoyable family drama

An engaging screenplay, stunning music, wonderful performances and the perfect rural ambiance makeDharmaduraia fun watch.
Director Seenu Ramasamy and Vijay Sethupathi first teamed up for the National award-winning film Thenmerku Paruvakatruin 2010 before getting together again for the yet-unreleased Idam Porul Yaeval. Their third film together Dharmadurai hit the screens this week.
Dharmadurai (Vijay Sethupathi) belongs to a remote village in the Theni district and is the only literate in his large family, comprising of his widowed mother, three brothers and married sister.
Dharma studies to be a doctor and is the apple of his mother’s (Raadhika) eye, while the rest of the family runs a Chit Fund company.
The film opens with a perennially drunk Dharma bad-mouthing his family, picking unnecessary quarrels and earning the wrath of his brothers. The situation gets so bad that his brothers even hatch a plan to kill him.
His only support is his mother, who pleads with him to leave the village and go somewhere where he can find peace and happiness. Dharma leaves the village in the middle of the night, but accidently takes the bag containing the chit fund money.
He goes back to his old Medical College to trace the whereabouts of his dear friends Stella (Srushti) and Subhashini (Tamannaah), who studied with him.
Thus begins the second phase of his life.
An interesting flashback gives a glimpse into the carefree life of a bunch of young medical students with high ideals of serving the nation.
The second half ties up all the loose ends explaining what happens to those lofty dreams, who is Anbuselvi (Aishwarya) and why Dharma hates his family.
Director Seenu Ramasamy has woven a beautiful tale with plenty of family sentiments, fun, and an important social message. The well-written characters with some powerful performances by Vijay Sethupathi, Raadhika and Aishwarya form the backbone of this film.
There are many facets to Vijay’s character and the talented actor proves once again that he is an effortless performer.
Raadhika, as his strong, supportive and loving mother, gives a remarkable performance. So does Aishwarya, as the village belle.
What takes the film down a notch is the screenplay, which appears a bit too smooth and lacks conviction at times. It is funny how Vijay has absolutely no clue that he has escaped with all the money, leaving his family in the lurch for months on end.
But an engaging screenplay generously peppered with humour, stunning music by Yuvan Shankar Raja, wonderful performances and the perfect rural ambiance make Seenu RamasamyDharmadurai a fun watch.

Deepika will earn Rs 12 crore for Padmavati: New era for Bollywood actresses begins

The recent news of Deepika Padukone being offered a Rs 12 crore pay cheque for Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s new film Padmavati is the first concrete sign that suggests a turning of the tide for the actress in Hindi cinema. It’s not the amount that is worth rejoicing, for the male lead in the film, Ranveer Singh, would probably get paid more, as might Shahid Kapoor, rumoured to have been finalised for the second lead.
Neither is the fact that Padukone is the first actress to officially transcend the Rs 10 crore barrier reason enough for celebration as this amount is a pittance when compared what the top male stars such as Salman Khan, Aamir Khan, Akshay Kumar, or Hrithik Roshan take home.

What makes the news special is perhaps for the first time a heroine has been "pursued" to be a part of a production and this would somewhere, hopefully, change the way actresses are associated with a project.
Inequality
There is no denying that actresses across the world fight a double-edged sword. Good roles start drying up as soon as they hit their mid-30s while the men only begin to come into their own and hit the best phase of their careers at the same age. Moreover, actresses are also automatically assumed to take a salary cut when it comes to roles with leading filmmakers.

Bollywood superhero in Hollywood? It’s possible, says Marvel’s Stan Lee

The legend said: "I've always been intrigued by Indian culture. It's so philosophical and rich in tradition. This is the first superhero I am creating specifically for the Indian market; so this is a new and exciting experience for me."

“I can’t comment on Marvel (on when a Bollywood superhero would enter the Marvel Universe). But I do think it’s great to show diversity and the world would be ready for a Bollywood superhero,” Lee told IANS in an email interview from Los Angeles. (Reuters Image)
Is there space for a Bollywood superhero in Hollywood? Sure there is, but don’t really know when, says legendary writer Stan Lee, who created the Marvel Universe, a jambalaya of comic book characters like Spider-Man and the X-Men, and the man behind Indian superhero Chakra.
“I can’t comment on Marvel (on when a Bollywood superhero would enter the Marvel Universe). But I do think it’s great to show diversity and the world would be ready for a Bollywood superhero,” Lee told IANS in an email interview from Los Angeles.
Lee’s POW! Entertainment, Sharad Devarajan of Graphic India (co-creator of Chakra) and Phantom Films announced pre-production on “Chakra – The Invincible” which is getting a Bollywood makeover through a live-action theatrical film.
Vikramaditya Motwane will be directing the “Chakra – The Invincible”, which was originally launched as a children’s animated film on Cartoon Network India two years ago, with three new animated TV movies currently in production to be released on Cartoon Network and Toonami later this year.
” ‘Chakra – The Invincible’ is more a compendium of many mythological characters — and real-life characters as well. He is a global hero, not just an Indian hero,” Lee said.
Going back in time to share the origin of the superhero, Lee said he was “heavily influenced by the fascinating Chakras which have long been a part of India’s ancient wisdom and traditions for generations”.
“With the story being set in Mumbai, I also got to explore the culture of an action-packed city that I’ve always been fascinated with.”
With Chakra, Lee got a glimpse of Indian culture, and was enamoured by it.
The legend said: “I’ve always been intrigued by Indian culture. It’s so philosophical and rich in tradition. This is the first superhero I am creating specifically for the Indian market; so this is a new and exciting experience for me.”
Now, with Chakra under way, will we see him make his debut in Bollywood?
Lee is willing.
“I’m open to any type of cameo. I like trying different things that I’ve never done before,” he said.
For the world, Lee might be famous as a creator of a fantastical realm charged up with superpowers, but he is more than that.
Be it “X-Men”, “Spider-Man”, “Daredevil”, “Fantastic Four”, “The Incredible Hulk”, “Iron Man”, “Captain America”, “Thor”, “Ant-Man” or “Deadpool” — Lee, 93, added a quirky and funny twist to the superhero movies with his cameo.
Lee, whose given name is Stanley Martin Lieber, is a comic-book writer, editor, publisher, media producer, television host, actor and former president and chairman of Marvel Comics.
He has worked with several artists, most notably Jack Kirby and Steve Ditko, to co-create Spider-Man, the Fantastic Four, the X-Men, Hulk, Thor, Iron Man, Daredevil, Doctor Strange, and many other characters.
He is currently Chairman Emeritus of Marvel, as well as a member of the Editorial Board of Marvel Comics.
In 2001, Lee along with Gill Champion and Arthur Lieberman formed POW! (Purveyors of Wonder) Entertainment to develop film, television and video game properties.
And as Chairman and Chief Creative Officer of POW! Entertainment, Lee has formed several new characters and stories.
The icon recently launched a new digital graphic novel called “God Woke”, and even stars in “Cosmic Crusaders”, an animated web series that narrates how Lee helps aliens access their superpowers on earth.
And he has no plans to slow down any time soon as he concludes by saying: “I love my work and I feel very fortunate to do what I do. So stay tuned for more!”

Padmavati is Bollywood buzz now. Wasn't Ranveer Singh expecting a question about the film?

Bollywood actor Ranveer Singh, who is the brand ambassador for an instant noodles company, launched a promotional short film directed by Rohit Shetty at an event in Mumbai recently.
With ample speculation about his upcoming film, Padmavati, directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali, the actor was asked to clear the air about the same. However, strangely enough, not only did the Befikre actor choose not to acknowledge the question, he later went on to virtually laugh off the film's existence, in a manner of speaking.
"Kiski? (yeh jo aapne dekha woh bahut acchi picture hai, bahut badi blockbuster hai, (What? The movie you watched now is very good and a big blockbuster," said Ranveer, reacting to the question on Padmavati, but actually talking about the promotional film which had just been aired.

Hard Kaur To Play A Negative Role In 'Ticket To Bollywood'

Mumbai: Popular Punjabi rapper Hard Kaur, who made her acting debut with Akshay Kumar-starrerPatiala House, is geared up for her second acting project, Ticket To Bollywood.
The popular singer plays the role of an underworld don's daughter in the film, which stars Vinay Pathak.
"Yes I am coming in a movie called 'Ticket to Bollywood'. Initially, I came on board as a music director and had also given one hardcore qawali track... In the film, I am playing a don's daughter, she is a villain," Kaur said.
"It is not a big part, it is a special role. I am no actor, but it was absolutely fun doing it. Vinay Pathak is an amazing guy, I spent some time with him and in fact Vinay and my mom became really good friends," she added.
The 36-year-old Chaar Baj Gaye Lekin Party Abhi Baaki Hai hitmaker was away from the music scene for a long time but Kaur says she was busy making songs which she believes in.
"I was absent from the mainstream scene but I was underground, making song which I believe in. I started my record label, became a music director, I am doing everything I wanted to do. Just because I wasn't in front of the camera, people thought I wasn't doing music."
Kaur is all set to launch her single Sherni. The Move Your Body singer says the track is "pure" hip-hop which also talks about women empowerment.
"I actually wrote this song years ago but realised itwasn't the right time to release it... My mother told me to do some real hip-hop, which is there in the song.

"It is an extremely personal song for me. It talks about women empowerment and how we should change the mentality. With digital platform today being so vast and accessible, I think it is a good time to release it," she said.

I am the only Bollywood A-lister to have balanced my career and marriage: Kareena Kapoor

Early this month, Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor Khan had announced that they are expecting their first child in December.

Slamming speculation that she might give up on the work front post pregnancy announcement, Kareena Kapoor Khan, in a recent interview, said she is the only B-town A-lister who keeps career and marriage going hand in hand.
According to a Pinkvilla report, the 35-year-old actress was spotted saying, "When I was getting married, many had predicted my career was over. I think I am the only Bollywood A-lister to get a career and a marriage going on full-fledged; to have worked in as many movies, if not more, after marriage as I have done before."
While Bebo is currently busy with her prior shooting commitments, she is all set to begin filming her upcoming chick flick, Veere di Wedding from next month.
When asked to comment about Saif's take on her decision to carry on work, the Udta Punjab star said, "Saif and I are on the same page on this. He tells me never to give up my career. Saif is a modern man. He tells me that if he is going out to work, it is a little selfish to expect that I should sit at home."

Wonder Woman trailer: Gal Gadot looks TERRIFIC as the Amazonian warrior!

On Friday, Gal Gadot shared the official poster for the spinoff film. “Power. Grace. Wisdom. Wonder,” it read, adding that it’d be coming in Summer 2017. Yes, we still have a year to go. Ga

…and that theme music is killing me!

On Friday, Gal Gadot shared the official poster for the spinoff film. “Power. Grace. Wisdom. Wonder,” it read, adding that it’d be coming in Summer 2017. Yes, we still have a year to go. Gal was joined at the panel with director Patty Jenkins as well as co-stars Chris Pine, (who plays Steve Trevor, her love interest) and Connie Nielsen (who plays Queen Hippolyta, Diana’s ruler and mother).
However, we did get the first trailer of the film that will be based on the character we met in Batman V Superman. So there aren’t any invisible jets in the trailer, but there’s tons of drama and intrigue! We meet Diana back in the 1940s, during WWII. Let’s just say that even the world’s greatest soldiers have nothing on an Amazonian warrior woman and her trusty golden lasso. “I can’t let you do this,” Steve says to Diana at one point. “What I do isn’t up to you,” she responds. Wonder. Woman!
“Wonder Woman is getting the respect of having her own movie!” Gal said previously in an interview with Glamour magazine, where she also explained getting that first call from Director Zack Snyder. “He said, ‘I don’t know if you have this in Tel Aviv, but…have you ever heard of Wonder Woman?’ My jaw dropped. I tried to sound nonchalant, like, ‘Oh yeah, Wonder Woman, sure.’”
Of course, it was important for her to play because of “how independent she is,” and that as a superhero, she’s not there for anyone but herself. “She has so many strengths and powers, but at the end of the day she’s a woman with a lot of emotional intelligence. She’s loving,” she said.
“I think women are amazing for being able to show what they feel. I admire women who do. I think it’s a mistake when women cover their emotions to look tough. I say let’s own who we are and use it as a strength.”

Gemma Atkinson: Being involved with Bollywood is amazing

British actress Gemma Atkinson, who is set to make her Bollywood debut with the film 'Fever', says being involved with the Indian film industry is "amazing". Atkinson, best known for playing Lisa Hunter on the British soap opera 'Hollyoaks', feels working in Bollywood is "really exciting", according to reports. "It's really exciting. I have had loads of nice messages from people over in India," Atkinson said.

"Being involved with Bollywood is amazing. Someone told me their film scene is bigger than Hollywood and I couldn't believe it," she added. 'Fever', which also stars Rajeev Khandelwal, Gauahar Khan, Victor Banerjee, Caterina Murino and Ankita Makwana, is slated to release on August 5.

Not Salman Khan, Shah Rukh Khan declared as the SULTAN of Bollywood by fans!

Shah Rukh Khan won the BollywoodLife Sultan poll with 47 percent vote while Salman Khan stood at number two with 35 percent votes.

Sultan might have come and taken the box office by storm but seems like social media begs to differ.

Shah Rukh Khan beat Salman Khan to win the Sultan title in a recent poll conducted by BollywoodLife. We quizzed our readers who amongst SRK, Salman, Aamir Khan, Hrithik Roshan and Akshay Kumar deserved to be called as the Sultan of Bollywood. While Salman’s film with Anushka Sharma garnered a lot of appreciation from fans and minted money too at the box office, it was King Khan who emerged as the winner in this poll. This might come as a shocker to Bhai fans however, looks like the Raees star’s followers decided to make this a win-win situation for their favourite superstar.
Salman’s Sultan was to originally clash with Shah Rukh’s Raees at the box office, this Eid. But in order to avoid a mega clash and a fight for screens, SRK pulled back. The bad news for Shah Rukh fans continued as his film opposite Pakistani actress Mahira Khan failed to find a release date this year. While the movie has been pushed to January 2017, we hear the makers are still negotiating with Hrithik’s Kaabil team to avoid another clash and bag the Republic Day release date. Even as Raees woes continue, this small win might just pep up SRK fans.
Shah Rukh Khan won the BollywoodLife Sultan poll with 47 percent vote while Salman Khan, who played the titular role, stood at number two with 35 percent votes. Hrithik Roshan bagged 11 percent votes while Akshay and Aamir managed just about 3 percent each. Looks like King Khan fans are eagerly waiting for their hero to strike back and strike hard. All we can say is that buddies SRK and Salman can both now brag that they are the Sultans of B-town.
