Hard Kaur To Play A Negative Role In 'Ticket To Bollywood'

Mumbai: Popular Punjabi rapper Hard Kaur, who made her acting debut with Akshay Kumar-starrerPatiala House, is geared up for her second acting project, Ticket To Bollywood.
The popular singer plays the role of an underworld don's daughter in the film, which stars Vinay Pathak.
"Yes I am coming in a movie called 'Ticket to Bollywood'. Initially, I came on board as a music director and had also given one hardcore qawali track... In the film, I am playing a don's daughter, she is a villain," Kaur said.
"It is not a big part, it is a special role. I am no actor, but it was absolutely fun doing it. Vinay Pathak is an amazing guy, I spent some time with him and in fact Vinay and my mom became really good friends," she added.
The 36-year-old Chaar Baj Gaye Lekin Party Abhi Baaki Hai hitmaker was away from the music scene for a long time but Kaur says she was busy making songs which she believes in.
"I was absent from the mainstream scene but I was underground, making song which I believe in. I started my record label, became a music director, I am doing everything I wanted to do. Just because I wasn't in front of the camera, people thought I wasn't doing music."
Kaur is all set to launch her single Sherni. The Move Your Body singer says the track is "pure" hip-hop which also talks about women empowerment.
"I actually wrote this song years ago but realised itwasn't the right time to release it... My mother told me to do some real hip-hop, which is there in the song.

"It is an extremely personal song for me. It talks about women empowerment and how we should change the mentality. With digital platform today being so vast and accessible, I think it is a good time to release it," she said.

I am the only Bollywood A-lister to have balanced my career and marriage: Kareena Kapoor

Early this month, Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor Khan had announced that they are expecting their first child in December.

Slamming speculation that she might give up on the work front post pregnancy announcement, Kareena Kapoor Khan, in a recent interview, said she is the only B-town A-lister who keeps career and marriage going hand in hand.
According to a Pinkvilla report, the 35-year-old actress was spotted saying, "When I was getting married, many had predicted my career was over. I think I am the only Bollywood A-lister to get a career and a marriage going on full-fledged; to have worked in as many movies, if not more, after marriage as I have done before."
While Bebo is currently busy with her prior shooting commitments, she is all set to begin filming her upcoming chick flick, Veere di Wedding from next month.
When asked to comment about Saif's take on her decision to carry on work, the Udta Punjab star said, "Saif and I are on the same page on this. He tells me never to give up my career. Saif is a modern man. He tells me that if he is going out to work, it is a little selfish to expect that I should sit at home."

Wonder Woman trailer: Gal Gadot looks TERRIFIC as the Amazonian warrior!

…and that theme music is killing me!

On Friday, Gal Gadot shared the official poster for the spinoff film. “Power. Grace. Wisdom. Wonder,” it read, adding that it’d be coming in Summer 2017. Yes, we still have a year to go. Gal was joined at the panel with director Patty Jenkins as well as co-stars Chris Pine, (who plays Steve Trevor, her love interest) and Connie Nielsen (who plays Queen Hippolyta, Diana’s ruler and mother).
However, we did get the first trailer of the film that will be based on the character we met in Batman V Superman. So there aren’t any invisible jets in the trailer, but there’s tons of drama and intrigue! We meet Diana back in the 1940s, during WWII. Let’s just say that even the world’s greatest soldiers have nothing on an Amazonian warrior woman and her trusty golden lasso. “I can’t let you do this,” Steve says to Diana at one point. “What I do isn’t up to you,” she responds. Wonder. Woman!
“Wonder Woman is getting the respect of having her own movie!” Gal said previously in an interview with Glamour magazine, where she also explained getting that first call from Director Zack Snyder. “He said, ‘I don’t know if you have this in Tel Aviv, but…have you ever heard of Wonder Woman?’ My jaw dropped. I tried to sound nonchalant, like, ‘Oh yeah, Wonder Woman, sure.’”
Of course, it was important for her to play because of “how independent she is,” and that as a superhero, she’s not there for anyone but herself. “She has so many strengths and powers, but at the end of the day she’s a woman with a lot of emotional intelligence. She’s loving,” she said.
“I think women are amazing for being able to show what they feel. I admire women who do. I think it’s a mistake when women cover their emotions to look tough. I say let’s own who we are and use it as a strength.”

Gemma Atkinson: Being involved with Bollywood is amazing

British actress Gemma Atkinson, who is set to make her Bollywood debut with the film 'Fever', says being involved with the Indian film industry is "amazing". Atkinson, best known for playing Lisa Hunter on the British soap opera 'Hollyoaks', feels working in Bollywood is "really exciting", according to reports. "It's really exciting. I have had loads of nice messages from people over in India," Atkinson said.

"Being involved with Bollywood is amazing. Someone told me their film scene is bigger than Hollywood and I couldn't believe it," she added. 'Fever', which also stars Rajeev Khandelwal, Gauahar Khan, Victor Banerjee, Caterina Murino and Ankita Makwana, is slated to release on August 5.

Not Salman Khan, Shah Rukh Khan declared as the SULTAN of Bollywood by fans!

Shah Rukh Khan won the BollywoodLife Sultan poll with 47 percent vote while Salman Khan stood at number two with 35 percent votes.

Sultan might have come and taken the box office by storm but seems like social media begs to differ.

Shah Rukh Khan beat Salman Khan to win the Sultan title in a recent poll conducted by BollywoodLife. We quizzed our readers who amongst SRK, Salman, Aamir Khan, Hrithik Roshan and Akshay Kumar deserved to be called as the Sultan of Bollywood. While Salman’s film with Anushka Sharma garnered a lot of appreciation from fans and minted money too at the box office, it was King Khan who emerged as the winner in this poll. This might come as a shocker to Bhai fans however, looks like the Raees star’s followers decided to make this a win-win situation for their favourite superstar.
Salman’s Sultan was to originally clash with Shah Rukh’s Raees at the box office, this Eid. But in order to avoid a mega clash and a fight for screens, SRK pulled back. The bad news for Shah Rukh fans continued as his film opposite Pakistani actress Mahira Khan failed to find a release date this year. While the movie has been pushed to January 2017, we hear the makers are still negotiating with Hrithik’s Kaabil team to avoid another clash and bag the Republic Day release date. Even as Raees woes continue, this small win might just pep up SRK fans.
Shah Rukh Khan won the BollywoodLife Sultan poll with 47 percent vote while Salman Khan, who played the titular role, stood at number two with 35 percent votes. Hrithik Roshan bagged 11 percent votes while Akshay and Aamir managed just about 3 percent each. Looks like King Khan fans are eagerly waiting for their hero to strike back and strike hard. All we can say is that buddies SRK and Salman can both now brag that they are the Sultans of B-town.

Jacqueline Fernandez plays John Abraham's stalker in Dishoom

That's the question someone closely associated with Rohit Dhawan's Dishoom is asking. The Sri Lankan starlet is cast opposite John Abraham in the film. And yet she is seen promoting the film everywhere with Varun Dhawan.

What is the deal? Shrugs the source, "It is baffling. Jacqueline is cast opposite John. She plays his stalker. Woh kehte hai na, haath dho ke peeche paddna. John doesn't give her the time of day. But she insists on showering him with attention, following him everywhere."

As for Varun, he doesn't really have a leading lady in the film.

Says the source, "He plays a chichora character. Dilpkhenk naujawan (a Casanova). Varun Dhawan has one song with Parineeti Chopra and another with Nargis Fakhri. But no leading lady. He is happy sowing wild oats."

Rajinikanth’s Kabali box office collection day one: Film makes around Rs. 48 crore on Friday

Rajinikanth’s Kabali has broken records and brought in big bucks with its day 1 box office collections. The movie, also starring Radhika Apte and Dhansika, was a big draw on the BO as its shows started even before dawn on Friday. People were lining up in front of theatres for the 5am shows.
Kabali released in more than 12,000 screens across India, as well as in the UK and Malaysia, which have a sizeable Tamil-speaking population. The first day booking across south India was a sold out and no ticket was to be had for love or money.
The movie has collected around Rs. 48 crores at the Indian box office despite mixed reviews and has now emerged as the highest grossing Indian film beatingSalman Khan’s recently released Sultan which collected Rs. 36.5 crore from the domestic box office on the opening day.
Rajesh Thadani, a Mumbai-based distributor, said: “The film has made an outstanding first day collection of around Rs 48 crore. But since the review is not that great, there will be a drop in its collection from Monday.”
“In Tamil Nadu, ‘Kabali’ collected a whopping Rs 21.5 crore from its first day. Since the film was exempted from entertainment tax, it managed to register such a big opening,” trade analyst Trinath said.
In Tamil Nadu, “Kabali” superseded the previous best opening record held by Ajith Kumar’s “Vedalam”, which had collected around Rs 15 crore, said another trade analyst.
In Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, the Telugu dubbed version also got a good start.
“The start has been phenomenal with Rs 13.5 crore. It has to be seen whether the film can sustain the momentum through the first week. It was due to the unprecedented advance bookings and Rajinikanth factor, the film managed to register good opening,” Trinath said.
Kabali has also set new benchmarks in the USA and Canada by earning a whopping Rs. 12.93 cr. in preview shows. Trade analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted, #Kabali[Tamil+Telugu] sets new benchmarks in preview shows in USA-Canada… Takes an EPIC start on Thu: $ 1,925,379 [₹ 12.93 cr]. SUPERBBB!
The movie, which saw a tremendous opening at the Indian box office, also dominated the box office in the international market emerging as number 1 in Malaysia, number 3 in USA-Canada and number 10 in UK. Trade analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted, #Kabali [Tamil+Telugu] opening in international markets: Malaysia: No 1 [Thu+Fri] USA-Canada: No 3 [Thu pre] UK: No 10 [Thu+Fri] @Rentrak
The film has reportedly earned Rs 200 crore already with the sale of satellite rights etc. It also created box office history in the US by registering the highest viewership for an Indian film premiere. This means at least one record made by Baahubali and Salman Khan’s Sultan has already been shattered.
“With $1.45M Premier Gross sofar #Kabali’s officially All-Time #1 Premier grosser in the US beating #Baahubali @superstarrajini,” TamilBoxOffice tweeted on Friday. Kabali’s US distributor Cine Galaxy also tweeted, “#Kabali @ $1,317,288 as of 4 pm EST Heading towards a record premiere day.”
According to reports, Bahubali earned $1,382,076 from its US premiere while Sultan brought in $786,194. Given the frenzy at ticket windows in India, more than a few records will be shattered by Rajinikanth soon

Rajinikanth’s Kabali day 2 box office collection: Did the movie make Rs 250 crore on first day?

Rajinikanth’s Kabali has earns Rs 5.20 cr in North India markets as its opening day collection.

Rajinikanth’s Kabali has shown that it is critic-proof with its massive box office collections. Even as mixed responses came in from reviewers, Kabali is smashing BO records with its collections. Shows are seeing 90 percent occupancy in south India and even Hindi shows have recorded over 50% occupancy on Kabali day 2 screening on Saturday.
With its day 1 earnings of approximately Rs 42 crore, the film is looking at over Rs 120 crore weekend business. On Friday, the film made Rs 21.5 crore in Tamil Nadu alone.
Trade Analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted the collection updates of North India market. Kabali, on its opening day, collected Rs 5.20 cr, while the film saw a growth of 19.23% on Saturday, in North India. Thus, by day 2, the film has earned Rs 11.40 cr here. Taran tweeted: #Kabali shows 19.23% growth. Fri 5.20 cr, Sat 6.20 cr. Total: ₹ 11.40 cr nett [Hindi+Tamil+Telugu]. Note: 1000 screens. NORTH INDIA markets.
“#Kabali -July 22 – Tamil Nadu Net -Rs 21.5 Cr (approx). Highest Day 1, in TN B-O history. Congrats @superstarrajini@theVcreations & @beemji,” tweeted film writer and anchor Sreedhar Pillai.
Film distributor Raj Bansal wrote, “#Kabali – All Versions Total – ₹ 42.00 Cr Appox. @superstarrajini Superb.” The collections are stupendous and trump Salman Khan’s Sultan, which earned Rs 36.54 crore on opening day.
However, the film’s producer S Thanu left everyone shocked when he claimed Kabali has eared Rs 250 crore on Friday itself.
A statement said the movie has earned Rs 100 crore from theatres in Tamil Nadu itself. “In India, the film has earned Rs 250 crore, which includes Rs 100 crore from Tamil Nadu and Rs 150 crore from places outside the state in India,” read a statement from the makers.
Since ticket prices in Tamil Nadu cannot be more than Rs 120, these figures are highly fantastical. To put it into perspective, a multiplex ticket in north India is priced anywhere between Rs 350-450 on a Friday and Salman Khan’s Sultan — which was released on 4500 screens — earned Rs 36.54 crore. Even though Kabali has released on almost double the number of screens, it ticket prices are also much lower.
Meanwhile, the film is prebooked in many places for the entire weekend and the Rajinikanth fan mania shows no signs of abating. (Kabali BO collection day 1: Film makes earth-shattering start)
According to trade analyst Taran Adarsh, the Rajinikanth film opened to a massive start not only in India but across the world. “If this is not EARTH-SHATTERING, what is? #Kabali [Tamil+Telugu] opening in intl markets: Malaysia: No 1 USA-Canada: No 3 UK: No 10 @Rentrak.”
In the US, where the film released on 400 screens, it has become Rajinikanth’s highest grosser ever. With these collections, Kabali has already broken Salman Khan’s Sultan and Aamir Khan’s PK record in the US. (Kabali movie review: This Rajinikanth film is a drag)
“#Kabali [Tamil+Telugu] sets new benchmarks in preview shows in USA-Canada… Takes an EPIC start on Thu: $ 1,925,379 [₹ 12.93 cr]. SUPERBBB,” Adarsh added. (Amitabh Bachchan to play Rajinikanth’s role in Kabali Hindi remake?)
The film is distributed by Fox Star India and its CEO Vijay Singh told Economic Times that the film opened to packed houses across India. “Kabali has lived up to the high expectation and opened to packed houses across India. It was expected to garner an earth shattering opening in the southern markets and it is indeed phenomenal due to the star power of Rajinikanth.”
There are reports that in many places in Chennai, the film’s tickets were sold up to Rs 4000 in black.

From Salman Khan to Akshay Kumar: Bollywood’s hot men as artworks

Here go Bollywood's superstars Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan, Aamir Khan, Amitabh Bachchan and Akshay Kumar as Prisma artworks.

Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan, Aamir Khan, Amitabh Bachchan and Akshay Kumar are well neigh perfect. But what if we added to their charm with Prisma.

Shah Rukh KhanSalman Khan, Aamir Khan, Amitabh Bachchan and Akshay Kumar are God’s answer to our (we mean the women) prayers. But when we got addicted to Prisma — the latest app in town which allows you to turn your everyday pics into works of art — we could not help ourselves.
Imagine our favourite Bollywood stars as cubist artworks or impressionist paintings? Actually, stop imaging and start looking.
Here is Shah Rukh Khan as a masterpiece. Now, don’t those intense eyes look so much more penetrating with these paintstrokes?
Amitabh Bachchan is our favourite gentleman. And the hottest man alive.
We always wanted to see how a portrait of Bollywood’s Mr Perfectionist will look. Now with this picture of Aamir Khan, one thing is off the bucket list.
Salman Khan is an artist himself. Now, what would the Sultan think of this picture of himself?
Akshay, him of the chiselled cheekbones and chiselled torso. The only thing that could have made him better was Prisma.
For those who came in late, Prisma is a new camera app that transforms your photos to look like paintings by famous artists. It goes beyond the film simulation filters that are widely available these days to offer a surprisingly realistic painting filter, say reports.
Gizmodo wrote that Prisma offers more than just the various hues of sepia. It uses neural networks and AI to turn a photo into artwork.

Divyanka Tripathi’s sister shares an emotional post after her bidaai

This message will surely bring tears to Divyanka Tripathi's eyes

Divyanka Tripathi’s sister Priyanka Tiwari’s message is just too emotional to handle!

Priyanka Tiwari has an emotional message for her sister Divyanka Tripathi and we are sure it will bring tears to Divyanka’s eyes. She shared pictures of Divyanka’s house and wrote “Kal jis aangan mein Chani ki haldi aur mehendi rasam hui, waha ka aaj ka nazaara.. Jese .. Ghar aangan .. Poora Bhopal … Ro rha he Bitiya ki bidaayee me.. ” (This is where Chani aka Divyanka’s haldi and mehendi ceremony took place. This is how it looks now. It seems as if entire Bhopal is crying on their daughter’s farewell.)
Divyanka Tripathi is extremely close to her family, especially her mother and sister. When Divyanka and Vivek Dahiya were busy with their shootings in Mumbai, it was Priyanka Tiwari, Divyanka’s sister who came down from Bangalore to do all the wedding arrangements. Most of Divyanka’s outfits were selected by her mother and her sister.
Divyanka Tripathi was brought up in Bhopal. She was a famous personality even before stepping into TV. She was crowned as Miss Bhopal in 2005. She had also done rifle shooting course from Bhopal’s Rifle Academy. So Divyanka’s sister is not wrong in saying that the entire city was looking up to her marriage and that her bidaai would have left them all sad.
Divyanka Tripathi and Vivek Dahiya’s wedding has gone on to become one of the most talked about topics of the week. It won’t be an exaggeration if I say that her wedding was a bigger affair than Rajnikanth’s Kabali, Salman Khan’s Sultan, IIFA 2016 and many other things that happened last week. It doesn’t matter whether you knew her or not, by know you would have definitely known that she go married!
